Branding Photos for Victory Prep

A Tutor Who Teaches with Edge & Empathy

When Lauren, the founder of Victory Prep, booked her branding session at Remi Studio, I knew this would be more than just a headshot update. She’s a punk-at-heart educator with a bold, personalized approach to tutoring—and as someone who used to be the high school punk kid myself, I felt an instant connection.

Victory Prep isn’t about rigid systems or one-size-fits-all academic help. It’s about understanding students as people first and making education feel accessible, empowering, and even a little fun. Our job was to make sure her photos told that story from the first glance.

A Brand That Balances Personality with Professionalism

Lauren traveled from Queens for this session, which meant every detail had to be intentional and worth the drive. As a business owner, her time is incredibly valuable—and it was important to me that she walked away with images that didn’t just fill space on a website but added meaning, connection, and conversion.

We collaborated on wardrobe ahead of time, choosing colors that would complement both her brand and her website design. Her signature red plays a big role in her brand identity, so I custom-ordered a red backdrop just for her session. That small detail made a huge visual impact—and tied everything together in a way that felt elevated and cohesive.

Lauren’s style was the real MVP though—subtle nods to her favorite bands through graphic tees, layered jewelry, and classic Converse added authenticity and edge. These weren’t “standard tutor photos.” They were her.

Branding Photography That Goes Beyond the Headshot

If you’ve ever worked with me before, you know I believe branding photos should be more than a headshot in a blazer. For service providers—especially educators, coaches, or creatives—your brand deserves imagery that reflects how you work and who you really are.

For Lauren’s session, we focused on:

  • Action shots that simulate her virtual tutoring sessions

  • Detailed scenes featuring lesson plans, handwritten notes, and everyday tools

  • Personality-infused portraits that still look clean and professional on a website

We wanted every photo to do more than look good—we wanted them to connect.

For Service-Based Businesses Who Want to Show Up Fully

Lauren’s business is growing, and these images were created with that in mind. We shot for now and for what’s next: a potential team, expanded services, online courses, or speaking engagements. These aren’t just branding photos—they’re building blocks.

And here’s the thing: great branding photography doesn’t have to mean stiff, buttoned-up images. It can feel personal. Bold. Even a little rebellious. It can reflect where you’ve been and where you’re going.
